Worship is not merely a response to God, but it is also the pursuit of God. In worship, we pursue God. We pursue a deeper, increasingly intimate knowledge of Him. The psalmist Asaph expressed this holy longing in Psalm 73:25
Whom have I in heaven but You?
I desire you more than anything on earth.
I desire you more than anything on earth.
The hunger and thirst for God in believers today is similar to David in Psalm 63:1
God—you're my God! I can't get enough of you!
I've worked up such hunger and thirst for God,
traveling across dry and weary deserts.
I've worked up such hunger and thirst for God,
traveling across dry and weary deserts.
Sometimes, it's easy to be a spectator during a worship service,as if it's a show for us. Some are content to be warmed by the fire of God, instead of being consumed by it.
Not the case for the worshippers last night!
We lavished our love and poured out our praise to Jesus! Those who wanted to encounter to God and surrender all before His throne were out in force last night!
And that is what UR120 is all about. Pressing into His presence. Surrendering all we are and all we have to Him. Being so hungry and desperate for God that we will do anything to get closer to Him.
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to encounter God? Worship continues tonight at 7p.m. Come and press into His presence!
